Empowering Growth: India Launches ₹100 Crore Credit Guarantee Scheme to Transform MSME Landscape

The Indian government has recently introduced a new credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs called the Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme for MSMEs, MCGS-MSME, to increase investments and elevate manufacturing as well as exports. Launched on 29th January, this scheme offers 60% coverage against guarantees for up to ₹100 crore loans covering collateral-free finance options for eligible micro, small, and medium enterprises. The scheme is designed to enable MSMEs in purchasing necessary equipment and machinery to enable them to further enhance their operational capacity.

It believes that this would be in harmony with the much-talked 'Make in India, Make for the World', and it definitely would be bringing MSME sector to enhance productions quality and then expand their boundaries across the borders. This drive is likely to contribute substantially in the GDP figure of India by generating employment not only in various manufacturing sectors now employing more than 27 million workers.
