Tech giant Infosys has laid off approximately 400 employees at its Mysuru campus, just months after recruiting them in October 2024. The company claims the dismissals are due to employees failing to meet minimum qualifying requirements after three assessment attempts. However, the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has criticized the move, alleging that Infosys deployed bouncers to intimidate employees and coerce them into signing "mutual separation" letters. This controversy comes amid ongoing discussions about Infosys founder Narayana Murthy's suggestion for a 70-hour work week, further intensifying the debate on work culture in India's IT sector.
