As Bollywood's latest romantic blockbuster "Saiyaara" sweeps the movie screens, there is one name on everyone's lips—Aneet Padda. The 22-year-old actress is creating ripples by virtue of her tear-jerking performance opposite Ahaan Panday, and audiences and critics alike are declaring her Bollywood's next big star.

Aneet Padda is who?
Born in October 2002 to a middle-class family in Amritsar, Aneet Padda's rise to stardom is meteoric. She began as a model and acting extra for films, first making an impact in 2022 with "Salaam Venky" with Kajol. Her real coming of age, however, was in the 2024 Amazon Prime Video show "Big Girls Don't Cry," and then in a supporting role in "Yuva: Sapno Ka Safar." Padda is also a trained singer and released her first song "Masoom" last year.

The Big Break: "Saiyaara"
Director Mohit Suri's search for a new face for his romantic drama "Saiyaara" took him to Aneet, who was selected from a group of over a hundred aspirants. Aanay Panday's (Ananya Panday's cousin) opposite, Aneet's subtle performance as Vaani Batra—a shy journalist—has been likened to iconic Bollywood debuts.

Key Points:

Box Office Hit: "Saiyaara" broke opening day records with a debut of Rs 21 crore, the largest for the debutante-starring Bollywood movie in recent history.

Viral Chemistry: Netizens are going ga-ga about Ahaan and Aneet's chemistry, with fansites abuzz with fan edits and movie clips.

Critical Acclaim: The critics praise her "blushing-through-tears" performance and call the love story a "goosebump-inducing" movie moment.

True Outsider: With no Bollywood background, Aneet's journey from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi to national phenomenon is inspiring a generation.

What's Next?
With "Saiyaara" nearing the ₹100 crore mark and music reaching the roof, the world waits with bated breath for what Aneet Padda does next. Bollywood has perhaps found its new national crush, and the journey has just begun.
