Asian Paints is setting up a new water-based paint manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh with an investment of around Rs 2,000 crore. The facility will have a production capacity of 4 lakh kilolitres per annum, catering to the rising demand for eco-friendly paints and improving supply chain efficiencies.
Asian Paints, India’s largest paint maker, has announced plans to establish a new water-based paint manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The investment is estimated at about Rs 2,000 crore (20 billion rupees), reflecting the company’s commitment to expanding its eco-friendly product portfolio and production capacity.
The new plant will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 400,000 kilolitres, boosting Asian Paints’ total installed capacity. With strategic location advantages, the facility is expected to enhance the company’s ability to serve central and northern India more efficiently by reducing logistics costs and delivery times.
This move aligns with the growing consumer preference for water-based paints that have lower volatile organic compounds (VOC) and are environmentally safer. The project is subject to approvals and incentives from the Madhya Pradesh government and further regulatory clearances.
