Adani Cement’s Boyareddypalli plant in Andhra Pradesh is set to become the first global cement plant to commercially deploy Coolbrook’s revolutionary RotoDynamic Heater (RDH™) technology. This breakthrough solution provides high-temperature industrial heat entirely from renewable electricity, replacing fossil fuel-based heating in the cement production process.
The RDH™ system targets the calcination phase—the most fossil fuel-intensive stage—by powering it with clean electricity, thereby enabling higher reliance on alternative fuels. This deployment is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 60,000 tonnes annually, with scalability potential to increase reductions tenfold over time.
This innovation complements Adani Cement’s elevated commitment to sustainability goals, including increasing alternative fuel usage from 28% to 30% and achieving 60% green power share by FY28. Powered by Adani Group’s vast renewable energy portfolio, RDH™ exemplifies the practical integration of zero-emission electrified heat in industrial manufacturing.
Executives from both Adani Cement and Coolbrook highlighted this partnership as a major milestone towards achieving net-zero targets and setting new standards globally in decarbonizing heavy industries, positioning India as a clean cement manufacturing hub.
