The Delhi government is set to roll out a citywide cleanliness campaign from August 1, 2025, mobilizing schools, resident welfare associations (RWAs), and community groups to improve sanitation and civic hygiene. The initiative follows a national call to action and aims to create visible impact across all neighborhoods.

Key Highlights From the Campaign Blueprint

- The campaign will span parks, markets, religious sites, and residential areas, with students acting as Cleanliness Ambassadors  
- Government and private schools will participate in awareness and cleanup activities beyond campus boundaries  
- RWAs and local groups are encouraged to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and report problem areas  

Administrative and Digital Support Measures

- All government offices will conduct internal cleanliness drives during the first two days of the campaign  
- A dedicated portal will be launched by the Urban Development Department and MCD for citizens and RWAs to upload photos of cleaned areas or flag neglected spots  
- Revenue Department teams comprising three senior officers each will engage directly with RWAs to promote hygiene awareness

- Cultural tools like street plays, songs, posters, and public announcements will be used to boost participation  
- Celebrities may be roped in to amplify the campaign’s visibility and inspire civic responsibility  
- Special focus will be placed on unauthorised colonies, slums, and underdeveloped zones to ensure inclusive coverage
