The newly-formed BJP government in Delhi, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme in its first cabinet meeting. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive health coverage of ₹10 lakh, with the Delhi government and the Centre each contributing ₹5 lakh. The National Health Authority (NHA) and Delhi government are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon to formalize the implementation. The scheme aims to provide free treatment up to ₹10 lakh for low-income households and senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of income.
