Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has promised that the national highway system of Madhya Pradesh will be superior to American standards in two years. Talking to Dhar, he inaugurated and laid the foundation of 10 large highway projects amounting to ₹5,800 crore. Gadkari declared that infrastructure development worth ₹3 lakh crore in the state would be completed within one year, which will enhance connectivity and fuel economic growth.
Referring to late U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Gadkari stated, "American roads are not good because America is rich; America is rich because American roads are good," promising the same for Madhya Pradesh. He referred to projects like greenfield corridors costing ₹33,000 crore and signature bridges like one planned along the Narmada River in Omkareshwar.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav complimented Gadkari on his vision, saying these projects would generate employment and cut poverty by way of enhanced connectivity.
