Harley-Davidson launched the X440T in India at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom), adding ride-by-wire, Road/Rain modes, switchable ABS/traction control, and panic braking alert to the 440cc platform. Revised styling nods to XR1200 heritage, with bookings from Dec 7 via Harley/Hero Premia outlets.
Premium Entry-Level Evolution
Harley-Davidson introduced the X440T as the top variant in its accessible 440cc lineup, priced at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This model builds on the standard X440 with advanced electronics and XR1200-inspired aesthetics, positioning it above the price-cut X440 S and Vivid variants. Bookings open December 7 at Harley-Davidson and Hero Premia showrooms, plus online.
The bike retains the proven 440cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Claimed efficiency hits 35 kmpl, with a 13.5L fuel tank.
Design and Rider Aids Upgrade
Distinctive changes include a reworked rear subframe with larger fender, comfy split seat, passenger grab rails, bar-end mirrors, and colors: Pearl Blue, Pearl Red, Vivid Black, Pearl White. Suspension features 43mm KYB USD forks (130mm travel) upfront and twin gas-charged shocks rearward.
New electronics shine: ride-by-wire throttle enables Road (full power) and Rain (10% torque cut, non-switchable aids) modes, switchable rear ABS, traction control, and segment-first panic braking alert flashing all indicators during hard stops. 18-inch front/17-inch rear wheels, 192kg kerb weight, 805mm seat height, 170mm ground clearance, and 1,418mm wheelbase complete the spec sheet.
