Himachal Weather Alert: IMD Warns of Continued Rainfall Through July 23

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Himachal Pradesh, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall until July 23. A brief lull is expected on July 19, but rain activity will intensify again from July 20 onward.

Districts under yellow alert include Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur, Chamba, and parts of Shimla.
Nahan in Sirmaur recorded 57 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, with moderate showers reported in Kangra and Mandi.
Light rainfall was observed in Kinnaur, LahaulSpiti, Solan, and Bilaspur.

July 19 will see relatively stable conditions, but visibility may remain poor due to low cloud cover.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected between July 20 and 23, especially in lower hill districts.
Temperatures are hovering near normal, with a slight dip anticipated around July 20.
