India has expanded its collaboration with the UK in sectors of priority such as telecommunications, artificial intelligence (AI), and new technologies. Following a recent visit by Telecom Secretary Dr. Neeraj Mittal, discussions were with the UK Department of Science, Innovation and Technology to enhance collaboration in 5G, 6G, and cybersecurity.
A major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between India's CDOT and Sonic Labs, with a focus on AI applications and Open RAN policies in telecommunication networks. The tie-up will create Joint Centres of Excellence in telecom cyber security and AI, and will also encourage India's 4G/5G telecom stack.
This project represents the two countries' dedication to driving innovation and responding to upcoming technological challenges in partnership.
