JIPMER Puducherry inaugurated its Annadhanam Centre on November 29, 2025, providing three free meals daily at Old OPD Block and Women & Children Block. The initiative supports hundreds of outpatients and attendants, easing financial burdens during treatment.
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry launched a dedicated Annadhanam Centre, embodying the spirit of selfless service ("anna daan" in Sanskrit). Inaugurated on November 29, this facility offers three nutritious meals daily—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—to patients and their attendants at two strategic locations: the Old OPD Block and Women & Children Block.
The move addresses a critical gap for underprivileged visitors who travel long distances for care, often facing meal costs amid medical expenses. Managed through community partnerships and CSR contributions, the centre ensures hygienic, balanced meals tailored to hospital diets, serving hundreds daily.
