Laughing Through Life: Vir Das’s Memoir ‘The Outsider’ Chronicles His Global Adventures!

Actor and comedian Vir Das is set to make his writing debut with his memoir, The Outsider: A Memoir for Misfits. Pre-orders are available for the book that maps his life's journey across continents and explores the subject of identity, comedy, and embracing the outsider life. In the book, Das shares anecdotes of being stranded in Mexico, cultural identity, and the highs and lows of his professional life.

Vir Das reflects on his life as a perpetual outsider, from an Indian kid in Nigeria to a Bollywood figure in American comedy. He explains that being an outsider is not a sign of weakness but of strength, and his memoir is a tribute to resilience and humor.

The memoir will be released in November 2025 by HarperCollins India and Simon & Schuster internationally.
