NeGD Hosts Cybersecurity Workshop for CISOs in Sikkim, Reinforces Digital India Goals

The National eGovernance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), conducted a oneday State Capacity Building Workshop for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and Deputy CISOs in Gangtok, Sikkim, on July 14, 2025. The initiative aims to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and institutional readiness across state departments.

  • The workshop was held in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Government of Sikkim.
  • Experts from CertIn facilitated sessions on threat landscapes, response strategies, and cyber hygiene practices.
  • Shri Tenzing T. Kaleon, Secretary of Sikkim’s IT Department, emphasized the evolving nature of cyber threats and the critical role of CISOs in safeguarding digital infrastructure.

  • Participants were urged to build independent security verticals and share threat intelligence across departments.
