Pedals of Change: Fit India Sundays on Cycle Rolls into BHU with Olympic Flair

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is now part of India’s nationwide fitness revolution as the Sports Authority of India (SAI) launched “Fit India Sundays on Cycle” on July 20. The event was flagged off by Olympic hockey star and Arjuna Awardee Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, adding star power to a movement that blends health, sustainability, and youth engagement.

  • The cycle rally began at Birla Hostel C and looped through Morvi Hostel, Vishwanath Temple, and Kasturba Girls Hostel before returning to its starting point.
  • Union Ministers Mansukh Mandaviya and Raksha Nikhil Khadse attended the event, underscoring its national significance.
  • Participants received Tshirts and refreshments, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
