Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Assam, where he will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹47,800 crore. The initiatives span road infrastructure, railways, energy, and welfare schemes, marking a major boost for connectivity and economic growth in the Northeast.
During his visit to Kokrajhar, Guwahati, and Silchar, PM Modi will unveil projects aimed at strengthening Assam’s infrastructure and empowering communities. The initiatives include road corridors, railway workshops, energy pipelines, and welfare measures for tea garden workers, reflecting the government’s focus on inclusive development.
Road And Connectivity Projects
The Prime Minister will perform bhoomi poojan for the Assam Mala 3.0 road initiative, covering over 900 km of roads to improve inter-state connectivity. He will also lay foundation stones for flyovers, bridges, and the Shillong-Silchar Corridor, the first access-controlled Greenfield four-lane high-speed corridor in Northeast India.
Railways And Energy Infrastructure
PM Modi will inaugurate a railway periodic overhauling workshop in Kokrajhar and flag off three new trains. In energy, he will dedicate the Kopili Hydro-Electric Project, enhance the Numaligarh–Siliguri Pipeline, and inaugurate Phase 1 of the North East Gas Grid, strengthening regional energy supply.
Welfare Measures
The Prime Minister will distribute land pattas to tea garden workers, providing homestead land rights to thousands of families. Additionally, he will release the 22nd installment of PM-KISAN, benefiting over 9.3 crore farmers nationwide.
