Reliance Foundation’s Rising Stars Set Sights on Global Glory at World University Games

A group of 23 sportspersons of the Reliance Foundation will be participating in six cities of Germany, until 27th of July. Representing the country in athletics, archery, and judo, these young sportspersons are looking to enhance their international ranking, personal best, and bring laurels.

Sport at the forefront

18 athletes are the nucleus of the campaign, participating in sprints, jumps, throws, hurdles, relays, long jump, decathlon, and others from July 21.

Some of the key names are Animesh Kujur (4x100m, 200m) and Moumita Mondal (long jump, 100m hurdles) and Ancy Sojan (long jump)

Kujur, having returned from his European tour and Diamond League exposure, is the relay team leader along with Manikanta Hoblidhar, Gurindervir Singh, DM Jayaram, and Lalu Prasad Bhoi

Mondal recently clocked 13.24s in hurdles, fourth best for India, while Sojan's best is 6.71m in long jump

Quiet firepower in archery and judo

Participants in archery are Mrinal Chauhan and Vishnu Choudhary (recurve), and Kushal Dalal (compound)

In judo, Himanshi Tokas (under 63kg), gold medallist Jr. Asian Cup 2025, Taipei, hopes to carry on the same winning momentum

Vision and influence

James Hillier, Director of Athletics, made the Games a priority as a singular multi-sport competition to encourage cross-discipline accomplishment

Reliance Foundation's sporting efforts reached 23 million children since 2013, in 13,000 schools and colleges
