Waaree Energies Ltd, India’s largest solar PV module manufacturer, has commenced commercial operations at its newly established second solar module manufacturing line located in the Navsari district of Gujarat. This facility adds 950 MW of module manufacturing capacity, reinforcing Waaree’s commitment to expanding domestic production amid rising demand for solar energy solutions.
The addition complements Waaree’s existing manufacturing footprint, which includes multiple plants across India with a total solar PV module capacity of approximately 16.7 GW and solar cell capacity of 5.4 GW. The company is advancing towards full backward integration with ambitious plans for wafer, ingot, and cell production lines, aiming to meet India’s growing need for clean energy with home-grown technology and supply stability.
This capacity ramp-up aligns with India’s National Solar Mission and government policies emphasizing domestic manufacturing under the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative. Waaree’s enhanced manufacturing capabilities position the company to serve expanding solar markets both domestically and internationally.
