Sharma reached this milestone in only 181 innings, bettering Sachin Tendulkar's record of 197 innings. The 37-year-old became a member of a very exclusive group of just six ODI openers to have more than 9000 runs. Sharma's achievement adds to his impressive list of records, including being the second-fastest to 11,000 ODI runs overall.
