Russian Investment in India Surges Threefold Amid Overall FDI Decline

Despite a decline in overall foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into India, Russian investments have seen a significant surge. In FY25, Russian FDI equity inflows increased more than threefold to $18.45 million, compared to $5.16 million in FY24. This growth reflects strengthening economic ties between India and Russia, with both nations focusing on strategic partnerships in sectors like energy and manufacturing. Meanwhile, India's total FDI inflows fell to $62.48 billion in FY25, down from $71.27 billion in FY24, due to cautious global investor sentiment.
