Accountability in Action: Auditors Must Safeguard Values, Says Himachal Governor

Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has said auditors are not just financial watchdogs but guardians of governance. Addressing IA&AS officer trainees at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts in Shimla, he emphasized their duty to uphold constitutional values, integrity, and accountability in strengthening India’s democracy.  

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony for IA&AS trainees, the Governor underscored the Academy’s legacy since 1950 in nurturing financial discipline and good governance. He stressed that auditors must adapt to evolving governance challenges, ensuring accountability at every level of administration. By reinforcing transparency and credibility, audit institutions contribute directly to democratic resilience.
