Breaking Barriers, Building Economies: Rural Women Lead the Way

India’s employment landscape is undergoing a quiet revolution, and rural women are at its forefront. The September 2025 Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), released by the National Statistical Office, reveals that the national Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) climbed to 55.3%—the highest in five months. This growth is largely attributed to increased engagement from rural women.
