Dharamsala Launches Its First Solar Power Project: A Step Towards Green Energy

Dharamsala took a leap toward sustainability as Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the town's first solar power project-a 750-kilowatt facility that costs ₹4.74 crore. This would generate around 2,000 units of electricity daily for the region in a bid to further green energy. It aims to achieve Himachal Pradesh's vision to become India's first "Green Energy State" by 2026, with an emphasis on preserving the environment and reducing carbon footprint. This is a landmark moment for the state in its renewable energy journey.
