Dilip Buildcon-STL Consortium Secures Major Breakthrough: Wins ₹1,625 Crore BharatNet Project in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

In a significant development, Dilip Buildcon Ltd., in collaboration with STL Tech, has emerged as the lowest bidder for BSNL's BharatNet Phase III broadband connectivity project. The project, valued at ₹1,625.36 crore, aims to enhance middle-mile and last-mile connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, regions that have historically faced connectivity challenges.

Funded by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), this initiative is part of the broader BharatNet program, which seeks to bolster broadband infrastructure across rural and remote areas of India. Dilip Buildcon will be responsible for 70.23% of the project's execution, focusing on design, development, operation, and maintenance. The project timeline includes three years for construction and an additional ten years for maintenance.

This win has positively impacted Dilip Buildcon's stock, which rose by over 4% following the announcement. The company's shares have shown a significant increase of 31.64% over the past year.

Other notable developments in the BharatNet Phase III project include ITI Ltd. securing contracts for packages covering northeastern states and other regions, valued at ₹4,559 crore. HFCL also announced its consortium's successful bid for a project in Uttar Pradesh, worth ₹6,925 crore.

This project marks a crucial step in enhancing digital connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, aligning with India's broader digital inclusion goals.
