e-KYC Deadline Extended For Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Amid Relief Measures

In a major relief for beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, the Maharashtra government has officially extended the e-KYC deadline to December 31, 2025. The decision was announced by Women and Child Development Minister Aditi S Tatkare, citing recent natural calamities and technical challenges that hindered many eligible women from completing the verification process by the earlier deadline of November 18.

The scheme, launched to empower women aged 21 to 65 years, provides ₹1,500 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to those with a family income below ₹2.5 lakh. The extension ensures that beneficiaries who missed the initial deadline due to unforeseen circumstances can still complete their Aadhaar-based e-KYC and continue receiving financial support.

Key highlights from the announcement include:  

• Over 2.3 crore women are currently registered under the scheme, reflecting its wide reach across Maharashtra.
• The e-KYC process is mandatory for continued disbursement of monthly benefits, and only verified applicants will remain eligible post-deadline.
• The scheme aims to promote financial independence, improve health and nutrition, and strengthen women’s roles in household decision-making.
• Additional checks have been introduced to prevent irregularities and ensure that benefits reach only eligible recipients.
• The government has urged all pending applicants to complete their e-KYC at the earliest to avoid disruption in payments.
