Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) To Distribute 5 Lakh Induction Cooktops As LPG Supply Faces Pressure

With LPG supply facing disruptions due to global energy challenges, EESL is accelerating efforts to promote induction cooktops as reliable alternatives. The move is designed to ensure energy security, lower household expenses, and encourage adoption of eco-friendly cooking technologies.

National Efficient Cooking Programme

Launched in 2023, the programme targets deployment of 2 million induction cooktops nationwide. EESL has already dispatched 1 lakh units and is now preparing tenders for an additional 5 lakh units to be supplied in two phases.

Sustainable Energy Push

Induction cooktops are being promoted as cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly appliances. By shifting households toward electricity-based cooking, the government aims to reduce carbon emissions and ease pressure on LPG imports.
