Hyderabad Welcomes Oota Restaurant Showcasing Authentic Andhra And Telangana Culinary Traditions

After redefining regional Indian dining in Bengaluru since 2016, Oota has expanded to Hyderabad. The restaurant is designed by Shibanee+Kamal Architects and celebrates the layered culinary traditions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, blending authenticity with storytelling through food.

Culinary Research And Menu

Oota’s culinary team travelled over 3,600 km across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over two years, cooking more than 500 dishes and learning from local communities, food historians, and small eateries. The result is a menu that captures everyday meals, festive dishes, and forgotten recipes of the Deccan.

Signature dishes include:

• Shikampuri Kebabs from Hyderabad’s Nizami kitchens
• Nellore Fish Fry and Bapatla Kodi Vepudu from coastal Andhra
• Mudda Pappu with Pachi Pulusu, Naatu Kodi Pulusu, and Peethala Iguru from Rayalaseema and Telangana
• Traditional desserts like Bandar Halwa from Machilipatnam and Putharekulu from Atreyapuram

Design And Ambience

The interiors reflect Oota’s understated architectural language with warm wood finishes, exposed brick masonry, brass accents, and curved forms. The ambience is designed to feel both traditional and contemporary, echoing spaces shaped by time and use.
