International commodity markets traded mixed with a cautious undertone amid persistent geopolitical concerns and fluctuating demand expectations. Gold prices remained subdued near 4,544.80, while XAU/USD traded at 4,543.29, reflecting mild pressure from a stronger dollar environment and profit booking in safe-haven assets. Silver also edged lower to 76.055. Base metals remained stable, with Copper trading marginally higher at 6.3363, supported by expectations of improving industrial demand. Energy markets stayed firm, as WTI crude oil rose to 99.29 and Brent crude gained to 105.85 amid ongoing supply-side concerns and geopolitical tensions. Natural Gas prices also moved higher to 3.040, supported by tightening supply expectations and improved near-term demand outlook.

The company expects Q1 FY27 orders of 40,000–45,000 units, further reduction in quarterly opex towards ₹3.5 billion, no major incremental auto capex in FY27 and expansion of gigafactory capacity to 20 GWh by early next year through capital raise at the cell entity level.
Macro, Non-Corporate, Unlisted and Foreign Stocks:
1) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Loan Recovery Framework: RBI issued revised draft directions on conduct of regulated entities in loan recovery. The draft proposes allowing lenders financing mobile devices to disable certain non-essential mobile functionalities in case of defaults while ensuring critical functions such as internet access, incoming calls and emergency SOS services remain active. RBI also proposed compensation of ₹250 per hour payable by banks in case of wrongful restrictions.
2) RBI Liquidity Measures: RBI announced a USD/INR buy-sell swap auction worth $5 billion for a tenor of three years to inject long-term liquidity into the banking system. The auction is scheduled for May 26, 2026.
3) RBI Currency and Reserve Money: Currency in circulation increased by ₹288.94 billion to ₹42.83 trillion in the fortnight ended May 15. Currency growth stood at 11.5% year-on-year compared to 7.2% growth a year earlier, while reserve money growth was 5.6% year-on-year versus 5.4% last year.
4) RBI Treasury Bills: RBI reported partial allotment ratios of 25.9% for 91-day treasury bills, 82.67% for 182-day treasury bills and 21% for 364-day treasury bill auctions.
5) SEBI Mutual Funds: SEBI proposed enabling donations through mutual funds with safeguards, allowing trail commissions to distributors through mutual fund units, salary deduction-based mutual fund investments for AMC employees and third-party payments in certain mutual fund scenarios.
6) India Infrastructure Output: India’s infrastructure output growth slowed to 1.7% year-on-year in April as per government data.
7) India Bond Market: India’s benchmark 10-year government bond yield closed at 7.0761% compared to previous close of 7.1101%.
8) Moody’s Southern Gas Capital: Moody’s Ratings assigned Baa2 rating to Southern Gas Capital’s proposed junior subordinated notes.
9) DiaSorin: Management indicated plans to develop a dedicated strategy for the Japanese market and resume previously paused investments in Saudi Arabia, including localisation of production facilities. The company also stated that Middle geopolitical conflict negatively impacted Q1 performance outside Italy, Japan and the US, with some offset from growth in Australia, India, Mexico and Brazil. Management expects part of the pressure to continue into 2026.
10) Boston Metal: Raised fresh capital taking total funding raised to over $500 million. Tata Steel joined the latest funding round.
