From Acceptance To Abandonment: RailTel Drops Key Railway Deal

RailTel Corporation of India has announced the cancellation of a Rs 267.3 million order awarded by South East Central Railway, citing the prevailing war situation and steep increases in material costs. The project, which involved OFC and HDPE pipe works, was deemed financially unviable under current conditions.  

The Navratna PSU had earlier secured the Letter of Acceptance for supply, transportation, trenching, laying, and allied works. However, with prices of optical fiber cables, HDPE pipes, and related materials escalating sharply, RailTel decided not to proceed, leading to termination of the contract by the customer.
