From Scouse to Splendor: Liverpool Sizzles as UK's Culinary Crown Jewel

The best city for food in the UK for 2025 was named as Liverpool by Time Out magazine. This North-West city impressed for the second straight year, thanks to its diverse and exciting culinary scope. In a survey of more than 18,500 people worldwide, she found that 84 percent of respondents put praise on Liverpool regarding restaurants' quality, while 72 percent characterized it as welcoming and friendly toward food. The city also placed high on the charts for affordability and family-friendliness. Local Time Out guru Alice Porter dubbed Liverpool "the most exciting city for food in the UK right now," particularly for mixing innovative newcomers and well-loved established eateries. Maray, the small plates restaurant inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine, took the top spot in Time Out's list.
