Geological Survey of India Commemorates 175 Years with Hyderabad Walkathon

The Geological Survey of India (GSI) celebrated its 175th anniversary in a colorful walkathon in Hyderabad on Sunday. The walkathon, as part of the countrywide "Geo-Scientific Glories of India" events, witnessed wholehearted response from GSI personnel, geoscientists, and people. The walkathon was designed to spread awareness about India's geological wealth and the role played by the GSI in the development of the nation. Attendees held placards indicating important geological locations and finds. Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Director General of GSI, underscored the role of the organization in mineral prospecting, geohazard surveys, and eco-friendly development. The event reflected GSI's focus on outreach and public involvement.
