Grow Indigo Secures $10M Boost to Revolutionize Sustainable Farming in India

Grow Indigo, an agritech firm, has raised $10 million from British International Investment (BII) to drive its sustainability initiatives in India. The firm, which was established in 2018, specializes in carbon farming and has already registered more than 2.5 million acres of smallholder land in seven states. Grow Indigo incentivizes climate-smart agricultural practices such as no-till or direct seeded rice and zero-tillage agriculture, which enhance the health of soils, curb soil erosion, and increase water efficiency. The funds will scale carbon farming projects so that within two years, they can enroll millions of farmers. With operations in 16 states and collaborations with food and fashion businesses, Grow Indigo is set to promote regenerative agriculture and generate more revenue for smallholder farmers through carbon credits.
