Weather Disruption Hits Travel Plans

The Titans played Qualifier 2 in New Chandigarh on Friday, defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets. Scheduled to fly to Ahmedabad on Saturday afternoon, their departure was delayed as airport authorities withheld take-off clearance due to heavy rain and storms across Punjab and Rajasthan. Several commercial flights were also affected.

Late Arrival In Ahmedabad

The team eventually landed in Ahmedabad after 10 pm on Saturday, reaching their hotel in Gandhinagar about 30–40 minutes later. This left them with virtually no turnaround time before the final. It is the first time in IPL history that a finalist has had to travel on the eve of the final. 

RCB’s Advantage

In contrast, Royal Challengers Bengaluru arrived in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, having qualified directly through Qualifier 1. They enjoyed two full training sessions and extra recovery time. Captain Rajat Patidar acknowledged the advantage, noting that while RCB had more rest, both teams remain strong contenders. 

Ahmedabad Hosts Fourth IPL Final

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host its fourth IPL final. Weather forecasts suggest clear skies for Sunday, unlike the rain-hit 2023 final between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, which spilled over to a reserve day.
