Guyana is set to become the only Latin American country to join the ranks of the world's wealthiest nations by 2025. With a projected GDP per capita of $61,099, Guyana will surpass many developed countries, placing it among global economic giants like the United States and China. This remarkable growth is primarily driven by Guyana's booming oil industry, following a massive offshore oil discovery in 2015. By 2027, Guyana is expected to produce 1.3 million barrels of oil per day, cementing its position as a major player in the global energy market and propelling its economy to unprecedented heights.
