Harvesting Innovation: India and Germany Unite for Agricultural Advancement

The 8th Joint Working Group (JWG) India-Germany meeting on agriculture was conducted in New Delhi with the aim of developing cooperation in different agricultural fields. Co-chaired by Ms. Alka Upadhyay, Secretary to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and Ms. Silvia Bender, State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the talks focused on digital agriculture, mechanization, horticulture, and animal husbandry. Both countries reiterated their priority to tackle worldwide agricultural issues by using innovation and sustainable methods. Ms. Upadhyay also promoted India's agri success stories and efforts like the Digital Agriculture Mission and FPOs. The gathering revealed a strong relationship to increase agriculture productivity and build food security through a collaborative work environment with the two parties seeking new areas to cooperate.
