Heathrow's Shocking Shutdown: Airlines Scramble as London Hub Goes Dark

Airlines across the globe are experiencing major disruptions to their flight schedules. Air India has cancelled all Heathrow-bound and Heathrow-originating flights for March 21, with some flights rerouting to the point of departure or diverting to Frankfurt. British Airways is requesting people to stay away from the airport, while Emirates has cancelled all Heathrow flights for the day. Virgin Atlantic has cancelled flights until noon, with the rest of the day's schedule being evaluated. Qantas has rerouted flights to Paris, with bus transport being arranged for passengers to London. The shutdown is likely to have a ripple effect on air travel across the globe in the coming days.
