Highways Halted, Patriotism Parades: Delhi’s Republic Day Route Restrictions

Delhi is set for sweeping traffic restrictions as Republic Day celebrations unfold on January 26. The parade from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort will trigger diversions across Kartavya Path, India Gate, ITO, and Daryaganj, with closures beginning the evening of January 25. Heavy vehicles will be barred from entering the capital during parade hours, while metro services remain functional but restricted at select stations. Authorities urge commuters to plan ahead, use Ring Road or outer corridors, and expect heightened security checks across central Delhi as the nation prepares for its grand showcase.
 

• Traffic restrictions will be in place on January 26, beginning the evening of January 25, with Kartavya Path closed from Vijay Chowk to India Gate.  
• The Republic Day Parade will start at 10:30 am from Vijay Chowk, moving along Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, Netaji Subhash Bose statue roundabout, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhash Marg before concluding at Red Fort.  
• Additional ceremonies at the National War Memorial and India Gate at 9:30 am will prompt further closures in central Delhi.
