India And France Deepen Strategic Ties With Defence And Nuclear Energy Talks

India and France reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence ties and expanding civil nuclear cooperation during consultations led by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and French Secretary-General Martin Briens. The talks underscored shared priorities in energy security, Indo-Pacific stability, and technological innovation.  

Defence Cooperation  

Both nations reviewed ongoing military collaboration, including joint exercises and defence technology partnerships. The discussions emphasized bolstering Indo-Pacific security architecture, reflecting mutual concerns over regional stability and maritime security.  

Civil Nuclear Energy  

Civil nuclear cooperation remained a cornerstone of the dialogue, with both sides exploring avenues to enhance energy security and sustainable development. France continues to be a key partner in India’s nuclear energy projects.  

Space And Digital Innovation  

The talks extended to space exploration, satellite collaboration, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, marking new frontiers in Indo-French cooperation.
