Indian Cardamom Exports Soar: Rs. 4.56 Billion in Six Months Signals Strong Growth

India's cardamom exports have reached a remarkable Rs. 4.56 billion in the first half of the 2024-25 fiscal year, showcasing the spice's growing global demand. This surge comes despite challenges in domestic production, with yields down by 50% this season. The export boom is partly attributed to a significant drop in Guatemala's cardamom harvest, creating opportunities for Indian exporters in Gulf markets ahead of Ramadan 2025. With prices stabilizing above $300 per kg, industry experts anticipate continued growth. However, quality concerns due to snail infestations and potential price volatility pose challenges for sustaining this momentum in the competitive global market.
