India’s Green Future: CRISIL Forecasts Historic $10 Trillion Investment for Energy Efficiency

India is set to witness a fivefold increase in green investments, projected to reach ₹31 trillion by 2030, according to a recent report by CRISIL.  This substantial growth will be primarily driven by the renewable energy sector, attracting approximately ₹18.8 trillion, followed by the transport and automotive sectors with ₹4.1 trillion, and the oil and gas industry with ₹3.3 trillion. These investments are crucial for India to meet its Updated First Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement, aiming for a 45% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
