Izmo Microsystems Partners with IIT Madras for Advanced Photonic Chip Packaging Solutions

Izmo Microsystems, a subsidiary of Izmo Ltd., has announced a strategic partnership with IIT Madras to develop cutting-edge photonic chip packaging solutions. This collaboration is part of the Centre for Programmable Photonic Integrated Circuits and Systems (CPPICS) initiative, backed by ₹2,665 lakh seed funding from MeitY and ₹325 lakh in-kind support from Izmo Microsystems. The partnership focuses on designing programmable photonic processor cores using silicon photonics technology for applications in microwave and quantum photonics. Izmo's expertise in System-in-Package (SiP) solutions will enable precise integration of optical, RF, and microelectronic components, positioning India as a leader in semiconductor and photonics innovation.
