Maharashtra Declares War on Water Woes: Clean Streams, Healthy Dreams

Maharashtra Environment Minister Pankaja Munde has declared a new policy to prevent water pollution and related diseases. The policy, to be rolled out by mid-2025, will target sewage contamination of rivers and lakes and encourage the reuse of treated water. A technical cell will be created to introduce new pollution control technologies in urban areas. The measure is undertaken on a positive note following recent health issues due to water contamination.
