Maharashtra Takes Bold Step to Combat Pollution: Ban on Petrol and Diesel Vehicles in Mumbai

In a significant step towards dealing with deteriorating air quality, the Maharashtra government has decided to put an end to petrol and diesel vehicles in Mumbai. To decide upon this initiative, a seven-member committee has been proposed by the Bombay High Court after requiring the government to submit its report. The court told that this is a dire need for an increase in vehicular emissions as the overall pollution level has reached severe levels. The three-member committee, headed by retired IAS officer Sudhir Kumar Shrivastava, is expected to submit its recommendations within three months, marking a pivotal shift towards cleaner transportation in the city.
