The India Meteorological Department (IMD) promised that the weather is conducive for the southwest monsoon to stretch further over western, central, and eastern India in the next two days. This will mean blanket rain over different parts.
Weather Development and Potential Impact
The monsoon will extend over Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and a part of East Uttar Pradesh.
Heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted in Gujarat, coastal Karnataka, north Konkan, and north Kerala.
There will be thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds along with rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

The fishermen have been cautioned not to sail into the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal due to high seas.
Isolated heavy rain in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
Light to moderate thunderstorm rain in northwestern India, with isolated heavy rains in Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh.

Temperatures have decreased slightly in Delhi, with maximum temperatures falling short of normal by 3-5°C.
The progression of the monsoon is crucial to farming, bringing enough rain to kharif crops.
