In a crucial encounter at the high-scoring venue, Punjab Kings (PBKS) have won the toss and elected to bowl first against Mumbai Indians (MI), with just under 15 minutes left before play begins. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer cited slightly overcast conditions and a covered wicket as key reasons behind choosing to bowl, emphasizing the fresh energy in the squad and the positive atmosphere in the dressing room.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya admitted they would have bowled first as well, noting that the pitch has flattened out and batting second could pose challenges. With six of the previous seven games this season being won by the team batting first, MI will be eager to post a competitive total. Reece Topley replaces the injured Richard Gleeson for MI.

The pitch at this venue is known to be a batter's paradise, and with dimensions favoring the batters (short boundaries at 61m and 67m square), both teams are expected to aim for a score north of 200. Execution with the ball will be key as bowlers look to contain runs on a flat and true surface.
