India has reiterated its unwavering commitment to being a peace-loving nation, firmly upholding its ‘no-first-use’ nuclear doctrine even as it faces persistent cross-border terrorism. Speaking from Cairo as part of an all-party parliamentary delegation, AAP MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney emphasized that India’s nuclear restraint stands strong despite repeated provocations, including the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

The Indian delegation, led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule, met with Egyptian leaders and foreign policy experts to present clear evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack. Sahney explained how a company from a neighboring country sought satellite images of the region and noted the religious rhetoric used by Pakistan’s military leadership. These revelations drew condemnation from Egyptian officials, who expressed solidarity with India and called for global unity against terrorism.

Sahney highlighted that India’s approach is rooted in responsible statecraft: “We have been able to drive the message home that India is a peace-loving nation, and has a policy of no first use of nuclear despite being a nuclear power. Over the last couple of years, India has been driven against the wall by continuous cross-border terrorism.” He added that India’s restraint should not be mistaken for weakness, and that the global community increasingly recognizes the dangers of giving terrorism any justification.

The visit also underscored India’s push for international cooperation on security, trade, and culture, with both Indian and Egyptian leaders agreeing that peace and partnership are essential for regional stability.
