In preparation for the upcoming Chaitra Navratri festival, Northern Railway has announced the extension of a special train service between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. With Chaitra Navratri being one of the most significant Hindu festivals, thousands of devotees travel to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine every year. Anticipating a sharp increase in passenger traffic, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has decided to extend the operational period of the reserved special train running between New Delhi and Katra.

The train, which operates under special service numbers, connects the national capital directly to the pilgrimage hub of Katra. This route is one of the busiest during religious festivals, particularly during Navratri, when devotees undertake the sacred journey to seek blessings at the Vaishno Devi temple.

Railway officials stated that the extension of this special train aims to ensure a comfortable and convenient travel option for pilgrims.
