The MangalagiriTadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) is set for a major infrastructure boost as the Andhra Pradesh government approves a ₹450.24 crore Comprehensive Water Supply Improvement Scheme. This ambitious project aims to ensure safe and sustainable drinking water for urban and periurban areas, addressing longstanding gaps in the region’s water infrastructure.
Key Highlights:
Strategic Expansion: The scheme covers erstwhile Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Mangalagiri and Tadepalli, along with 15 newly merged villages.
Funding Breakdown:

₹287.54 crore under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF) for completing works in former ULBs.

₹51.20 crore under AMRUT 2.0 for core infrastructure components.

₹111.50 crore for extending water supply to merged villages, funded through the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).
Krishna River as Source: The project includes intake and treatment facilities, distribution networks, and completion of pending works under a previous AIIBfunded scheme.
FutureProofing: Designed to meet water supply needs up to 2056, ensuring longterm sustainability.
