PM Modi Reviews ₹30,000 Crore Projects, Calls For Mission-Mode Rooftop Solar Expansion

The PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) platform enables real-time monitoring of critical projects across states. At its 51st session, Modi reviewed seven major projects spanning railways, power, and road sectors across nine states, underlining the importance of timely delivery to avoid cost escalations and delays in public benefits.

Rooftop Solar Push

Modi directed states to accelerate rooftop solar installations in urban areas, residential clusters, and public institutions. He emphasised that rooftop solar must be taken up in mission mode to reduce electricity costs, strengthen energy security, and promote clean energy adoption. He also encouraged innovative use of canal networks for solar panel installations to generate renewable energy while reducing water evaporation losses. 

Infrastructure Projects Reviewed

The Prime Minister examined projects worth ₹30,000 crore across railways, power, and road connectivity, covering nine states. He stressed tighter coordination between Centre and states to resolve bottlenecks and ensure faster execution. Modi also reviewed the Ken-Betwa River Inter-linking Project, calling it a model for inter-state water cooperation. 

Vadhavan Port Development

Modi highlighted that the upcoming Vadhavan Port should not be seen merely as a port but as a national logistics gateway. He directed that it be developed as a multi-modal hub integrating coastal shipping, inland waterways, highways, dedicated freight corridors, high-speed rail, and airport connectivity. 

Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0

The Prime Minister stressed that Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 must move beyond infrastructure creation to deliver measurable outcomes. He urged states to expedite completion of solid waste management facilities, waste processing plants, and GOBARdhan plants, ensuring citizen participation and regular monitoring.
