Reliance Industries Completes Acquisition of Lakadia B Power Transmission

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has finalized the acquisition of Lakadia B Power Transmission Limited for 67.3 million rupees. The deal, initially announced in January 2025 for 80 million rupees, aims to develop an interstate transmission system to evacuate up to 3.5 GW of renewable energy from Lakadia, Gujarat. RIL will design, construct, and operate the project under a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model. The acquisition includes implementing a 22 kV line bay for various renewable energy developers and installing a 1×330 MVAr 765 kV bus reactor. This strategic move enhances RIL's presence in the renewable energy transmission sector.
